I'm having the time of my life here in the northern reaches of India. I loved the bus ride to Leh, even though I was feeling the effects of altitude as we went over the second highest motorable pass in the world.

The people here are very friendly and make some amazing food. As we are so close to the borders of China and Tibet I have been sampling some of their delicacies as well. Crispy chilli chicken was a real favourite along with a vegetable cheese Momo (a Tibetan speciality very much like a tortellini or ravioli).

The other people on the expedition are amazing. We are all getting on great. It's a real boost to know that you are sharing such a momentous adventure with others who have a similar mindset.

Thanks for everyone's support in getting me here.

Bara Shigri range, Lahoul. The crystal clear skies of Lahoul in late autumn offset the snow capped peaks of the Bara Shigri mountain range. A giant glacier in the range forms a difficult part of a trekking route from Spiti valley to Lahoul.

A favourite with tourists, Rohtang pass (alt. 3978m) 50km north of Manali is the gateway to Lahoul and Spiti districts. Covered in deep snow for most of the year the summer months provide an opportunity to see the many wild flowers that cover the grassy slopes.
